Hidden Meadow Lending is a free loan-matching service for personal loans of $500 to $5,000. This disclosure explains what we do and do not do, how we earn money, and what you should know about the loans that lenders in our network may offer. Please read it before you submit a request.
Hidden Meadow Lending Is Not a Lender
Hidden Meadow Lending is not a lender, does not make credit decisions, and does not fund loans, broker loans, or set any loan terms offered to you.
When you complete our request form, we share the information you provide with lenders and partners in our network. Each lender reviews your request using its own criteria and decides on its own whether to make an offer. If a lender makes an offer, you review the full terms on that lender's website and choose whether to accept. You are never obligated to accept any offer.
Submitting a request does not mean you will receive an offer or be approved. Not every applicant is matched with a lender, and not every matched applicant is approved. Hidden Meadow Lending is not an agent or representative of any lender and does not endorse or recommend any particular lender or loan product.
How Hidden Meadow Lending Is Compensated
Hidden Meadow Lending is free for borrowers; lenders and marketing partners in our network may pay us when a user submits a request or when a user obtains a loan.
You never pay us a fee to use our website or to submit a request. Our compensation comes from the companies that receive requests through our service. Depending on the arrangement, a lender or marketing partner may pay us for a submitted request, for a request it chooses to review, or when a loan is funded.
These payments may influence which lenders or offers are shown to you and the order in which they appear. They do not change the amount you pay us, which is nothing. They also do not determine the APR, fees or other terms a lender offers you; those are set by the lender. Our network does not include every lender or every loan product available in the market, so you may find other options elsewhere.
No Endorsement of Any Lender
Hidden Meadow Lending does not endorse, recommend or vouch for any lender, and the appearance of a lender or offer is not a statement about its quality.
Lenders in our network are independent companies. We do not control their underwriting, pricing, servicing, customer support or collection practices. Before you accept an offer, read the lender's loan agreement, privacy notice and any state-required disclosures carefully. If you have questions about a specific offer, contact the lender directly, because only the lender can explain or change its terms.
APR, Loan Terms and a Representative Example
APRs offered by lenders in our network generally range from 5.99% to 35.99%, with repayment terms commonly from 3 to 36 months, and every lender sets its own rates.
The annual percentage rate (APR) reflects the yearly cost of borrowing, including interest and, in many cases, certain fees. Your actual APR, fees, loan amount and term depend on the lender, your credit profile, your income, the amount you request and the state where you live. Some lenders may charge an origination fee, which may be deducted from the loan before funds are deposited. The lowest rates are generally available only to applicants with the strongest credit profiles.
Representative example: a $2,000 loan repaid over 12 months at 24.99% APR would have estimated payments of about $190.08 per month. The estimated total repaid would be about $2,280.94, of which about $280.94 is interest. This example is for illustration only. Your offer, if any, may have a different APR, fees, payment and total cost.
If you accept an offer, many lenders deposit funds as soon as the next business day, but timing depends on the lender and your bank, and we cannot promise any particular funding time.
Credit Inquiries and Your Credit Report
Lenders in our network may run a soft credit inquiry to show you an offer, and a lender may run a hard credit inquiry before final approval, which can affect your credit score.
A soft inquiry does not affect your credit score. A hard inquiry may cause a small, temporary change to your score and may appear on your credit report. Lenders may also verify your identity, income and bank account using consumer reporting agencies or other data sources. Lenders consider applicants across a range of credit histories, but a credit history does not by itself determine whether you will be approved.
Many lenders report payment activity to one or more of the major credit bureaus. On-time payments may help your credit over time, and missed payments may hurt it.
Implications of Late Payment or Non-Payment
Missing a loan payment can lead to late fees, returned-payment fees, collection activity and negative credit reporting, and the exact consequences depend on your lender's agreement.
Before you accept an offer, look for the section of the lender's agreement that describes what happens if you pay late or do not pay. Common consequences may include:
- Late fees or returned-payment fees, which are set by the lender and limited by state law.
- Reporting of late or missed payments to credit bureaus, which may lower your credit score.
- Referral or sale of your account to a collection agency.
- Legal action to collect the debt, as permitted by law.
If you think you may miss a payment, contact your lender as early as possible. Many lenders can discuss options such as a short payment date change. Hidden Meadow Lending cannot change, waive or negotiate the terms of any loan.
Renewal and Refinancing Policies Are Lender-Specific
Whether a loan can be renewed, extended or paid off early is decided by each lender and described in that lender's loan agreement.
Some lenders allow early payoff without a prepayment penalty; others may handle early payoff differently. Some lenders may offer a payment extension or a new loan in certain circumstances, and any such option may add cost. Review these policies in the lender's agreement before you sign, and ask the lender directly if anything is unclear.
State Availability
Hidden Meadow Lending's service is not available in all states, and lenders in our network may not offer loans in every state or in every amount.
Loan amounts, APRs, fees and terms are subject to state laws, and a lender may offer different products or no product at all depending on where you live. Typical eligibility requirements, which each lender decides, include being at least 18 years old (19 in some states), being a U.S. resident, having a steady source of income, an active checking account in your name, a valid email address and phone number, and a Social Security number.
